Orlane Merand
Need to print my resume ?
Immersed in books even before I could read, I read between 80 and 100 books a year. Motivated by the idea of meeting authors and readers, I would like to work in the festival and book fair industry. Here is a non-exhaustive list of things to know about me:
✦ I speak French and English fluently. I have some knowledge of Spanish, and after three months on a language learning app, I am pleased to announce that I can say my name is Orlane in Swedish (Jag heter Orlane).
✦ I really love music, especially going to concerts, and I enjoy listening to a wide variety of artists. I might spend a week with Ludovico Einaudi, immersing myself in the world of classical music. The next week I might be with Rilès, a French rapper who speaks English like it's his mother tongue. Or I might be with Tom Odell or even Twenty One Pilots. In short, just note that when I'm not reading, I'm listening to music, or probably both at the same time (this paragraph was written while listening to “I Am Not Who I Was” by Chance Peña).
✦ I choose my books the same way I choose my music: I take everything. I can go from a contemporary novel to a manga, to a thriller, to a comic book. All of this in French, but also in English. My six 2025 favorite books:
- Moi qui n'ai pas connu les hommes - Jacqueline Harpman (Stock)
- Le chant des innocents - Piergiorgio Pulixi (Gallmeister)
- L'intégrale de Beauté - Hubert et les Kerascoët (Delcourt)
- The surrogate mother - Freida McFadden (Self-publishing)
- Abîmes - Lucile Corbeille (Delcourt)
- Les sirènes de Malibu - Taylor Jenkins Reid (10/18)
Currently in my second year of a Master's degree in book publishing at the University of Angers, I am starting a 6-month intership for the Lire en Poche festival in Gradignan (33) in april.
